Bealeton Station Pool Rules

For the safety, protection, and enjoyment of all members and guests

The following rules are for the safety, protection, and enjoyment of all members and residents ("members") and their guests. They have been established by the Board of Directors to protect members' investments in the Recreation Facility ("Facility") and to assure a safe and sanitary environment for wholesome recreation and enjoyment.

Payment of yearly dues constitutes an agreement by each member, his/her family, and their guests to abide by these rules. Infractions by a member or guest shall be considered sufficient cause for immediate suspension of the offending person(s) privileges and may be considered sufficient cause for cancellation of membership as provided in the Bylaws.

Important Notice

These rules are subordinate to all Fauquier County, Virginia Swimming and Pool Ordinances and Regulations and to the Bylaws of the Bealeton Station Homeowners Association, Inc. ("Association"). All members and guests shall use the Facility at their own risk. The Association is not responsible for articles on the property.

1Management
  1. The Board of Directors has delegated authority to the Pool Manager for the maintenance of order and cleanliness in and around the Facility, for the supervision of the operating staff, and for the proper enforcement of Rules and Fees established by the Board of Directors.
  2. A management/association issued pool pass or guest pass shall be used to identify individuals who may use the Facility.
2Enforcement of Rules and Regulations
  1. The Pool Manager and Staff ("Pool Management") are responsible for enforcing the rules. Members and guests are expected to observe all rules and to obey Management instructions. Pool Management shall take such action as deemed necessary for the safe and orderly operation of the Facility.
  2. Lifeguards have the authority to suspend pool privileges for up to one day. For good cause, Pool Management has the authority to suspend pool privileges for up to one week. Management may also recommend that the Board of Directors suspend privileges for periods longer than one week. Any suspension of privileges must be reported to the Board of Directors, the Management Agent, or a designated representative and to the parents of any suspended minor children. Appeals of any suspensions must be referred in writing to the Board of Directors.
3Pool Attire
  1. Swimwear must cover private parts. Both males and females must wear swimwear that covers their private parts. This shouldn't be a problem for most of the standard swimsuits available for purchase.
  2. Wear proper swimwear material. Proper swimwear material is defined as any material that's specifically designed for the purposes of swimming. This includes spandex, polyester, nylon, and any similar material that's non-absorbent.
  3. Infants and toddlers must wear swimwear over diapers. It's fine for infants and toddlers to wear diapers in the pool. In fact, infants and toddlers are required to wear diapers if they're not yet potty-trained. Any infant or toddler that does wear a diaper must be completely covered up by a swimsuit. No part of the diaper should be left exposed to the water.
  4. Revealing swimwear is forbidden. Swimmers should not display any of their private parts. Even if the swimwear is made of material that's suitable for pool water, it still cannot be worn if it's too revealing. Examples of revealing swimwear that's strictly prohibited include thongs and French-cut swimwear.
  5. Street clothes cannot be worn in the pool. Examples of street clothes that are prohibited include T-shirts, jeans, shorts, skirts, and leggings. Under some circumstances, you may be allowed to wear normal clothes on the pool deck, but you're never allowed to wear normal clothes in the pool water itself.
  6. Sports clothes are not allowed in the pool. Examples of sports clothes that are considered inappropriate for swimming pools include sports bras, leggings, dri-fit shirts, and compression garments.
  7. Regular underwear is not permitted in the pool. Undergarments may look eerily similar to swimwear, but they do not serve the same function. Looks can be deceiving, so just wear regular swimwear instead.
4General Behavior
  1. Members and guests are responsible for proper disposal of litter and trash.
  2. The use of profanity and other offensive/abusive language is prohibited.
  3. Loitering in the bath house or near the lifeguard stands / station is prohibited.
  4. The Bealeton Station Recreation Facility is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is prohibited on the pool deck and in the bath house.
  5. No animals or pets are allowed in the Facility.
  6. Members and guests are encouraged to use the Facility parking area and available neighborhood streets when using the Facility; however, there may not be sufficient parking in the immediate vicinity of the Facility to accommodate all Facility users.
  7. The use of drugs in the Facility is prohibited. Anyone deemed to be under the influence of drugs or to be intoxicated shall be required to leave the Facility and the surrounding property immediately.
  8. Members are liable for property damaged by members of their families or their guests or their lessees who are authorized to use the Facility.
  9. Motorized vehicles are permitted in designated parking areas only.
  10. Radios and other musical devices may be used on Facility property provided reasonable noise levels are observed as determined by Pool Management.
  11. The use or possession of alcoholic beverages on Recreation Facility property is prohibited.
5Hours of Operation / Restrictions
  1. The pool shall generally open for the season on the Saturday before Memorial Day. The pool shall close for the season on Labor Day. Hours of operation shall be promulgated each season.
  2. Adults only swim periods may be scheduled at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
  3. The Pool Manager may close the Facility for maintenance or inclement weather or for other conditions whenever such action is, in the judgment of the Pool Manager or his designated representative, necessary to provide for the safety of all persons on Facility property or to protect the pool's physical facilities.
  4. Members may hold birthday parties for children under age 12 subject to approval by the Management Agent. Parties are limited to a 2-hour period during regular pool hours. Reservations for parties must be made in writing, either by fax or regular mail, three (3) days in advance of the party so that authorization is on file with Management prior to the party. No parties shall be authorized or allowed to take place unless Management has received written approval from the Management Agent. This shall ensure that sufficient lifeguard staff is present for the party. Time slots for parties shall be reserved on a first come, first served basis. No more than one (1) party may be held at a time. Parties are limited to ten (10) children. Food must be consumed in designated areas. If extra guards are needed, owner shall pay for the extra guards.
6Admission
  1. A "pool pass" system shall be used to authorize entry into the pool area.
  2. Members (homeowners or residents) are responsible for ensuring that the information submitted when applying for pool passes is and remains up to date throughout the period when they use the pool. Such information includes names, address, ages or birthdates, relationship to head of household, and photograph (upon request).

Pool Management shall also have children leave the pool if it is found that their supervisor(s) have left the Facility.
7Guests
  1. A 5-punch guest pass card shall be available to members at a cost of $10.00 per card. Any person not a member of the Association or resident of the community (i.e., "Guest") may enter the pool area only when accompanied by a member or resident. Any guest who enters the pool area may do so only by having the accompanying member's guest card punched. Members shall present guest passes at the guard desk and register guests. Guest Pass Cards are available from the lifeguards or the management agent.
